Gratitude – (Premiere) Issue #1
Welcome / Action Guide

Give yourself a gift of five minutes of contemplation in awe of everything you see around you. Go outside and turn your attention to the many miracles around you. This five-minute-a-day regimen of appreciation and gratitude will help you to focus your life in awe.
~ Wayne Dyer

Gratitude is a way to remove the negative thinking around you and fill yourself with positive, happy thoughts. Gratitude is expressing appreciation for what you have right now, the people in your life, and all good things that are available to you in this moment.
Gratitude isn’t just a quick shot of feel-good. It can truly transform you. It can pull you out of the never-ending circle of negativity and give you a renewed sense of joy.
The simplest way to practice gratitude is to make it into a daily habit. And the best way to start is to commit to gratitude journaling.
If you are struggling to find something to be grateful for, start small. Make sure you focus on the positives. By practicing gratitude we can actually train ourselves to spot the positives.
You may not feel like writing about a prompt in particular, but you are stretching yourself by answering it anyway. Or you can pick and choose, writing only about the prompts that resonate with you. Or just list and write about 3-5 things you are grateful for.
SCHEDULE A TIME: Habits are easiest when we do them consistently. Find a time when you can write in your gratitude journal that works for you on a consistent basis. Sometimes it helps to have an attractive journal and wonderful pen to write with. But if that doesn’t matter, you can write in a basic notebook, or use your computer or phone to collect your list of daily gratitude. It’s all about finding what works for you so that you make it a daily habit. Then you will reap the benefits of looking through grateful glasses and feel so much more positive about yourself and your life.
“Gratitude isn’t just about acknowleding what you have. It’s also about honoring your season of life, your experiences and all the world has to offer us. Some days it is hard to be grateful. But writing down a few things you are grateful for can literally turn around your whole day.”
As you do this, you will become more intune with what you are grateful and more observant of what positive things are happening around you.
PRINTABLE QUOTE
One of the best ways to kickstart your day is to read a motivating quote! This month we are focusing on gratitude and how it can change your life and increase your own self-confidence.
So print out this quote and put it where you will see it often throughout the day. Or print out several. Put one on the fridge, one in a frame on your desk or kitchen counter, one on the bathroom mirror and even one in your car!
